Diffusers

What is an essential oil diffuser?

Aromatherapy essential oil diffusers are small devices that send the essential oil elements into the air.

What are the differences between humidifiers and diffusers?

Humidifiers are designed to release moisture into the air and are generally used during the dryer months to provide moisture into the air.  Diffusers are designed for a specific purpose of sending essential oil elements into the air.

Helping to Deodorize and Calm Your Home's Environment

Many people diffuse essential oils in the home atleast a couple times a week. Diffusing essential oils may also help with deodorizing and calming the environment.  Diffusion works by distributing essential oil molecules through the air.

Once in the air, they are inhaled and come into contact with nerves that send them directly to the brain. This is a quick and safe way of letting the essential oils go to work for you. You can either use a diffuser or direct inhalation. For direct inhalation, simply open the bottle and breathe. You can also drop a few drops onto the palm of your hand, rub your hands together, then cup your hands over your mouth and inhale.

Improving Moods

Essential oil’s power to cross the blood-brain barrier allows them to improve moods. Once the oils hit the emotional center of the brain, they go to work. Essential oils have been used to increase energy and improve mood. When I am feeling overly stressed and anxious, diffusing essential oils has been shown in studies to be potentially useful in reducing stress.
